The 2017 Tonnellerie de Mercurey NZ Young Winemaker of the Year Final was held at Villa Maria in Auckland with the celebration dinner held at Ostro Restaurant where Kelsey Daniels (above) from Vinlink Marlborough was announced the winner and Sara Addis from Trinity Hill, Hawkes Bay runner up. 2017 Bayer Young Viticulturist of the Year announced

Congratulations to Tim Adams from Obsidian, Waiheke Island, who is the Bayer Young Viticulturist of the Year 2017. Tim was representing the Auckland/Northern region and it is the first time the trophy will be going back to this region. Wine industry recognises viticultural excellence at 2017 Romeo Bragato Wine Awards

A Cabernet Franc from Canterbury has come out on top at this year’s Bragato Wine Awards. Grown by Lindsay Hill, in the Waipara West vineyard located in Canterbury, The Boneline Cabernet Franc 2016 won the coveted Bragato Trophy for Champion Wine of the Show. The 2017 Tonnellerie de Mercurey NZ Young Winemaker of the Year South Island Final was held in Marlborough on Friday with Abigail Maxwell from Babich Wines taking out the title. Kelsey Daniels from VinLink Marlborough came in second with Peter Russell from Framingham Wine Company taking third place.
