Award-winning Kiwi chef Sid Sahrawat adds edginess, adventure and a little anticipation to the week with the new dining concept.

Your senses will be tested as Sahrawat and his talented team create unique dishes offering diners the opportunity to try exciting new menu ideas.

SIDART’s Tuesday Test Kitchen is an eight-course meal comprising the finest locally sourced and produced ingredients.

It is also an artistic display of visual splendour, an array of textural composures and flavour combinations sure to be the focal point of culinary conversation in 2012.

The menu varies every Tuesday based on what seasonal produce is available and catering for all dietary requirements* with eight amazing dishes for $80 plus an additional wine matching option.

Although the food is Sahrawat’s point of passion, his reputation for creativity in how it is presented and served speaks a lot about the attention to detail provided by all the SIDART staff who are renowned for their helpful, friendly service.

Sahrawat is a multi-award winning chef including such titles as ‘Most Innovative Chef’ and ‘Outstanding Chef’ at the Lewisham awards.

Passionate in his kitchen to the point of obsession, Sid has worked hard to make the SIDART experience accessible and personal for diners: “I've assembled my first-choice front of house team, who combine the precise technique and product knowledge of formal dining with a personal touch I'd like to think is uniquely SIDART.”

Sid gained valuable international experience early in his career in Asia and the Middle East, before moving to New Zealand in 2000. Since then he has also worked as head chef at Toto, George and Anise, and has been consistently praised by reviewers – most recently at The Grove, where during his tenure the restaurant won 5 stars in Viva, 10/10 in Canvas, 5/5 in the Herald on Sunday and 5/5 in the Sunday Star Times.

SIDART has also won ‘Best New Restaurant’ and ‘Best Dish’ in Metro Audi Restaurant of the Year Awards.

Cuisine magazine has nominated it in its 50 best New Zealand Restaurants for 2011. Sid was also a guest judge for the second season of Masterchef.
