DESCRIPTION: The Auckland-based Fine Wine Delivery Company has operated
Fine Wine Online since 1998, one

Isabel Estate Vineyard is located in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough,
New Zealand's
largest and most successful
wine producing area. As well as being one of the largest privately-owned
estates, having been established in 1982, it has some of the oldest vines.
Isabel Estate currently produces five wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay,
Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and in exceptional vintages, a botrytised
Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc. Isabel Estate also offers accomodation. Placed
at the centre of the working vineyard, Isabel Lodge accommodates ten to
twelve people, has a a large stone fireplace, two bathrooms, a fully equipped
kitchen and private access.
 The
site looks great, and works well. Each wine is covered with full
details of the relevant vintage, with winemakers' commentary, technical
notes, and awards and reviews. Vineyard techniques are explained,
brief bio's of key personnel given, and a vintage report is provided.
A regular newsletter expands on winery goings-on. Worldwide distributors
are listed by region, NZ retail outlets are listed, and an excellent
set of links to wine review sites here and overseas is a useful resource.
Accomodation at the Lodge can be booked online. Tasteful!
